2021 Event Updates
March 1, 2021
Dear Bike the West Ride Participants & Friends,
Thank you for your patients and continued interest and support of Bike the West. We have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and hope to produce events in 2021. Much progress has been made by CDC in lessening the threat of Covid and making the vaccine more available, though there are still many unknowns for us to navigate through to produce our rides in two states and several county / city jurisdictions. Thank you for your sacrifices in stopping the spread…
Our 29th Annual America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride, scheduled for Sunday, June 6, 2021 will officially not take place as a 3000+ participant mass ride. We continue to explore other options for alternate Lake Tahoe cycling experiences this June and will issue another update no later than March 15, 2021, should approvals be granted for other ride options.
NEW! For over 25 years, Bike the West and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) have partnered together for America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride to deliver an experience unlike any other. In that time, nearly 27,000 riders have raised over $106 million for LLS's mission to cure blood cancers as part of the Team In Training program. Bike the West is proud to partner with Team In Training to continue this tradition and bring our beloved bike ride to you with the 2021 Virtual America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride, powered by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Tour de Tahoe: Updated information for the 18th Annual Tour de Tahoe set for Sunday, September 12, 2021 will be available as soon as possible… We are more positive that Bike the West may be able to produce this ride as long as all participants, staff & volunteers are vaccinated… Proof of vaccination may be required at event check in. Expect an update by April 1, 2021.
OATBRAN: We were able to safely produce this ride within Covid-19 regulations and a limited number of participants. The 30th Annual tour across Nevada is set for Sunday-Saturday, September 26 - October 2, 2021. Online registration for this event will open on March 1, 2021 and will be limited to 40 participants. Proof of vaccination may be required at event check in.
For those that registered to ride either of our 2020 postponed events and transferred to future events, we value your loyalty and hold your entry fees as a credit. Any of our registered riders from the 2020 postponed events will be given priority if our events are limited to a set number of attendance. Unfortunately, refunds from 2020 are not possible and credit to 2022 events will NOT be extended… Please be sure to add email@example.com to your address book to ensure you receive all pertinent emails regarding your registration.
Our condolences go out to everyone, as we have all made sacrifices and endured a very tough year. We hope with a vaccine in place that there will soon be more clarity on rules, regulations, and phases for reopening the states and counties that our rides traverse. Our team is looking forward to welcoming you back to our fully supported rides when it is safe to do so.
