Thank you America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride participants for helping to make this year’s event one of the safest in recent years. We only had one official transport and a couple of additional incidents where riders were taken to the hospital, treated and released. We estimate as many as 3350 participants rode the event. We definitely dodged the bullet, so to speak, with the weather from the previous days of rain and thunder showers.  Mostly cloudy and 46F at 6:00am, start time, and progressively got better as blue skies returned to Lake Tahoe with clouds hugging the mountain tops. The day-time temperatures got into the 60’s with light winds.  Turned out to be a perfect day for riding.

Big Thanks and congratulation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 1700 + Team in Training Participants, Coaches and Mentors, that raised over $6.8 Million for continued research to find the cure and assist with families that are effected by this disease.

We appreciate the Mayor of South Lake Tahoe, Jerry Birdwell, welcoming all the riders at the Start of the ride and Nevada Senator John Ensign participating as a rider in this year’s event.

We have a few items left in the drop box and a few lost & found items.  If you forgot to pick up your drop bag, please email us with your name and ride number and we will attempt to locate and return your items.

If you missed viewing your photo, please visit TahoePix.com to review your photo and order directly online from their website.  Photos are provided from Laine Photo Labs.

Thanks also to our sponsors and friends that set up in the Expo area:

We are also pleased to announce that Charles “Chuckles” Nelson, our Assistant Ride Director who has been in the Hospital fighting a Staff infection for the past two weeks, was released from Barton Hospital on Sunday evening and is doing fine.  We missed Chuck’s expertise and organizational skills in setting up many of the facets of Rest Stop food distribution and Start-Finish coordination.

Big Thanks to all the volunteer groups, agencies, businesses and sponsors that are dedicated to serve our riders:
